How To Make the Perfect Homemade Soda Cooler
What in the world is more refreshing than a summer-cool fizzy fruit drink in your hand while it’s burning hot outside? Well, to save you the trouble of going out in the scorching sun and buying chemically loaded carbonated drinks from the store, we bring to you the perfect natural alternatives you can easily try out at home to beat the summer heat.
Use these ‘cool’ recipes:
1. Cherry Basil Soda
Cherry is not the most sought after seasonal fruit. However, it can really surprise you if you can make a soda-drink out of it!
What You Need:
- Pitted Cherries
- Chopped Basil
- Organic Sugar
- Carbonated Water
- Lime Wedge
How To Make It Right:
Mix cherries with basil and sugar in a large bowl. Toss them around for a bit so the cherries are layered with sugar and basil leaves. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, add the cherry mixture into a blender until smooth. Strain out the cherry puree from the pulp. What you have now is the cherry basil syrup.
Splash some soda into your glass filled with ice covered in cherry basil syrup. Garnish with a lime wedge or your favorite herbs from the backyard.
2. The Watermelon Fizz
Another one of the most refreshing summertime fruits; Watermelons are juicy, fruity and sweet! Now, imagine all of that with a little extra fizz.
What You Need:
- Watermelon
- Organic Sugar
- Lime Juice
- Soda
How To Make It Right:
Prepare the syrup out of sugar and pieces of watermelon by mixing them well in a large bowl. Cover the bowl in plastic and refrigerate overnight.
Empty the contents of the mixture into a blender the next morning and keep working it until it’s smooth. Extract the puree from the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer and you have your watermelon syrup.
Pour it into an ice-filled glass and add a hint of lime juice. Top off with sparkling water. Garnish with a lime wedge or basil leaves, and your delicious drink is ready to be enjoyed.
3. Pineapple Mint Soda
Pineapples are native to India and Africa and are mostly had in the summers. A pineapple mint soda sounds like a cool idea for a summertime drinking spree.
What You Need:
- Pineapple Chunks
- Organic Sugar
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Fresh Lemon Juice
- Sparkling Water
How To Make It Right:
Coat the pineapple chunks with sugar and mix them well in a bowl.
Empty the contents of the bowl into a blender and add mint leaves into it. Keep working the blender until the mixture acquires a smooth texture. Once that happens, strain out the syrup from the pineapple mixture through a fine-mesh strainer and your syrup is ready for use.
Splash the sparkling water in a glass filled with ice cubes dripping of syrup. Add a hint of lemon juice and stir. Garnish with mint leaves or a lime wedge. Sip your soda throughout the hot afternoon and enjoy.
