Check Out Popup Delhi, a Restaurant that Disappears in 90 Days
It’s strange when a restaurant has an expiration date. Introduced by the Tres Team, The Popup Delhi is a Delhi dining based completely on a new concept. This new modernized restaurant replaces the one-time Tonic at Siri Fort complex, although only for 90 days. Started off in December 1st 2014, the temporary Popup Delhi is housed in Asiad Village and features an extensive menu, including a varied alcohol list.
The interior is very light, airy and easy going. It is a perfect place to enjoy an afternoon scrumptious lunch. It is the brainchild of the chef couple behind Tres, Julia and Jatin Mallick.
The cuisine is mainly european. However, they’ve come up with an interesting menu which combines different cuisines in dishes. An example, you can order for their pan tossed haldi chili Maharajah prawns with onions, garlic, kokum, and curry leaves; Maple, kasundi mustard, chili chicken strips dusted with rice flour.
Though The Pop Up is around for just a few weeks more. The owner said that if the concept works then it may stay on with new dishes. Here’s hoping!
Recommendations: We’d go for the Baked Garlic and Thyme Brie as the starter, follow it up with the Char Grilled Lobster with paprika mustard infused dressing. Finish the meal with Grilled Homemade brownie, served with salted caramel.
